Brooklyn Borough Hall Hosts Prom Dress Giveaway For Deserving Teens 4/17

On Saturday, April 17, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join Megan Kerrigan of Marine Park at Brooklyn Borough Hall as hundreds of free couture prom dresses are distributed to deserving high school girls. Kerrigan has been handing out donated dresses since 2001, and this is the first time the event has been held in her home borough of Brooklyn. Kerrigan expects more than 1,700 girls from 35 Brooklyn schools and beyond to attend.

Today the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation released a Request for Expressions of Interest in the operation of a 5,000-seat performing arts facility to be located at site of the historic bandshell in Asser Levy Park, which will be upgraded as part of the major Asser Levy Park rehabilitation project.
