In the run-up to the Orchestral Qawwali Project’s show in the auditorium, we invite you to experience the community, joy and power of traditional Qawwali, bhajans and other forms through an inclusive and informal jam session in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room.
Guided by members of the Orchestral Qawwali Project, special guest artists and friends, we invite you to sing, clap and play with us as we spend an afternoon creating and nurturing the special energy of Qawwali that is experienced all over the world.
Between songs, we will be speaking about the rich history of Qawwali, its instrumentation and the central role it has played in music and culture.
Join us for an open, immersive and infectious afternoon of singing and learning. All ages and experience levels welcome!
