SlashR is a taught and sexy thriller set in the traumatized New York of November 2016. What starts as a mundane murder investigation (of a young man prone to using dating apps) soon exposes a conspiracy for world domination skewering the entire two-party system, celebrity worship and the tendency for the US to find the shallowest and easiest solutions. In the course of the investigation, Detective Oakley comes up against evil PACs, a manipulative media, and serial killers. With the help of an outlaw hacker named Reeta and her mid-to-low-tech comrade The Exterminator, Oakley uncovers a connection between The Great Bed Bug Panic of 2010, the 2016 election, the worldwide spread of fascism and the scary clowns.

Other Theatre is pleased to continue its 4th season with the third revival of its holiday hit BARNEY THE ELF, a campy and irreverent musical comedy, written by Bryan Renaud with lyrics by Renaud and Emily Schmidt. After helming the 2016 production, Tommy Rivera-Vega returns to direct and choreograph, with music direction by Nik Kmiecik and arrangements by Jermaine Hill.

 First Folio Theatre presents A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM as part of its annual outdoor Shakespeare Under the Stars series, which opened Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 8:15 p.m., and runs through August 14, 2016. Shakespeare's magical story about the difficulties of love is directed by Hayley Rice and produced by David Rice, author ofThe Madness of Edgar Allan Poe and composer, adaptor and lyricist of Shakespeare's Cymbeline: A Folk Tale with Music.

Could there have been a happier bunch last night than the cast and creative team of HAMILTON? The show took home a whopping eleven Tony Awards, giving the company plenty to celebrate after the festivities concluded at the Beacon Theatre. Stand-up comedian, actor and writer Mark Roberts returns home for the Midwest Premiere of The New York Times' Critics' Pick NEW COUNTRY at The Den Theater, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. The no-holds-barred show, described by Stage and Cinema as a"...hilarious, poignant, and at times heart-wrenching comedic drama," previews February 20, 2016 and runs through May 14, 2016.  Under the direction of Ian Streicher, the uncensored comedy about a country star's Nashville bachelor party going wildly amiss is sure to entertain audiences looking to push the proverbial envelope for a moving and hilarious night out.
