This spring, Theatrical Outfit proudly presents 110 in the Shade, the sizzling Broadway musical adaptation of the beloved classic play The Rainmaker by N. Richard Nash with music and lyrics from the duo behind The Fantasticks, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. Directed by Artistic Director Tom Key with musical direction by S. Renee Clark (Big Fish, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill) and choreography by Angela Harris, The Outfit's 110 in the Shade features a diverse ensemble of fifteen performers and concludes Theatrical Outfit's 2017- 2018 Season of Character.

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage.

Deidrie Henry returns to The Armory to star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Lanie Robertson's riveting portrait of Holiday's life told through an imagined final performance in a small bar in South Philadelphia in 1959. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Bill Fennelly returns to The Armory to direct after previously directing Gypsy, Black Pearl Sings and, most recently, Little Shop of Horrors. Deidrie Henry, who most recently played Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Armory, will be joined on stage by Abdul Hamid Royal, the production's music director who also plays the role of Jimmy Powers, along with local musicians Charles Neal (drums) and Andre St. James (bass).

To ring in the new year, Theatrical Outfit proudly stages Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, a riveting look into one of jazz and blues legend Billie Holiday's final performances, starring Atlanta's own Terry Burrell (Alliance Theatre's Ethel; Broadway's Thoroughly Modern Millie, DreamGirls, Into the Woods). Set in a seedy bar in Philadelphia's south side in 1959, Lady Day features twelve beloved songs and lays bare the humor and hurt of one of the most beloved singers and complex personalities of all time. Directed by Atlanta's Eric J. Little (The Outfit's Thurgood) with musical direction by S. Renee Clark (The Outfit's Big Fish), Lady Day runs January 11 February 4, 2018 and continues Theatrical Outfit's bold 2017- 2018 Season of Character.
