The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., once again makes theater history when it becomes the first Broadway show ever to celebrate its 25th Anniversary tonight, January 26, 2013. Tonight, Monday, January 21, 2013, the longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., will welcome Broadway and West End star Sierra Boggess to the New York cast. Ms. Boggess will play a strictly-limited engagement as leading lady Christine Daaé for 6 weeks through Saturday, March 2.

Producers today announced an online sweepstakes to give PHANTOM 'Phans' the chance to be part of the historic night's invitation-only performance. While many of the evening's details are being kept under wraps, the special night will begin with an early 6:30 PM performance at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), the musical's home for its entire run.

Just added to the concert lineup are Curt Hansen (Next to Normal), F. Michael Haynie (Dogfight), Hayley Podschun (Chaplin), and Tony nominee Tim Jerome (Tarzan, Me and My Girl). They join the previously announced concert cast, who are also featured on the Calvin Berger recording: Noah Weisberg (Legally Blonde, South Pacific), Krystal Joy Brown (Leap of Faith), David Hull (Wicked) andDana Steingold (Spelling Bee).

As previously announced, producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan will also be honored for their work in bringing musical theatre to a worldwide, pop-culture audience.

The event takes place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues, at 7pm.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the life of legendary Broadway composer Jerry Bock will be celebrated Monday January 24th at Roundabout's American Airlines Theater (227 West 42nd Street) at 2:30pm. The celebration is open to the public, on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 2pm. The latest list of performers scheduled to appear are Kate Baldwin, Brigid Brady, Susan Cella, Barbara Cook, Harvey Fierstein, Boyd Gaines, Roundabout's Todd Haimes, Bock's longtime collaborator Sheldon Harnick, Hal Linden (and his original Rothschilds' 'sons:' David Garfield, Alan Gruet, Paul Hecht, Tim Jerome and Chris Sarandon), Joe Masteroff, Howard McGillin, Brad Oscar, producer Stuart Ostrow, Austin Pendleton, Lonny Price, Harold Prince, Chita Rivera, Bock's longtime friend and attorney Richard M. Ticktin, Rachel Ulanet, Tony Walton, Sherman Yellen and Bock's daughter Portia, among others. Michael Montel will stage the event.

Mainstreet Musicals and WBAI-Pacifica will present a benefit evening called MAKING WAVES on Monday, November 8th at The Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street featuring Hal Linden among others. This is Mainstreet Musical's launch event highlighting songs from musicals that have changed minds, turned corners, roused ire, and generally uplifted the human spirit. The benefit evening will include performances by HAL LINDEN, JILL EIKENBERRY, MICHAEL TUCKER, MARY TESTA, DEBORAH MONK, CASS MORGAN, JANE SUMMERHAYS, CHRIS SARANDON, TIM JEROME, WALTER CHARLES, CAROLE DEMAS, K.T. SULLIVAN, DE'ADRE AZIZA and the cast of HAIR among others. The benefit will be directed by Charles Repole. Mainstreet Musicals and WBAI-Pacifica are teaming up to develop a network of local theatre festivals around the country that will introduce award-winning new musicals into communities where they are absent or in short supply. Mainstreet Musicals is a spin off of National Music Theater Network/NYMF.

Fans of forgotten musicals should be flocking to this freshman concert series, which celebrates Broadway's hidden treasures.

On October 14, as part of the If It Only Even Runs A Minute concert series, the Broadway musical Truckload will have a mini-reunion on stage at the American Theatre of Actors.
