Powerhouse Latino theatre group Culture Clash's 'Chavez Ravine: An L.A. Revival,' opened last night, February 4, at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Performances run through March 1, 2015. BroadwayWorld has photos from the opening night festivities below!

The Kirk Douglas Theatre was originally an historic 1940s Streamlined Moderne-style movie house called the Culver Theater, and it is believed that Kirk Douglas' movie "Spartacus" played there in the early 1960s. In 2003 it was transformed into an intimate 317-seat live theatre venue and named for the theatre's initial major donor: Kirk Douglas. On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre celebrated its 10th birthday with Anne and Kirk Douglas in attendance.

The world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's "Forever," directed by Center Theatre Group Associate Artistic Director Neel Keller, opened this Sunday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre. A Parallelogram celebrated its opening night last night, Sunday, July 21, at the Mark Taper Forum. The play, by Bruce Norris, is directed by Anna D. Shapiro. Three world premieres, seven productions in all, are scheduled for the 10th season at the Douglas. The works range from a new rock musical to a sweeping new drama to a masterful interpretation of the works of Beckett, plus the bonus option of The Second City's one-of-a-kind Christmas show.
