Broadway Records announced that the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of the movie musical, Life of an Actress, would be released on CD and digitally today, April 28th. It is now available for order on the Broadway Records website at http://www.broadwayrecords.com/cds/life-of-an-actress as well as Amazon.com and other select retailers.

Broadway triple threat Jeremy Benton adds the role of 'developing director' to his already laudable resume when he stages an upcoming industry reading of the new musical, Sweet Swing!, in New York City next week. Benton directs and choreographs the six-person musical, which has book and music by Diane Tauser (Notre Dame de Paris and Stone Cold Beauty), and tells the real story of a wartime romance during World War Two.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) and Perry Street Theatricals will present a concert version of the new musical, BLOOD AND FIRE. The show will be presented on Monday, March 16 at 7:00, as part of TRU VOICES -- the 14th Annual Musicals Reading Series.

Luna Stage presents the world premiere of Tar Beach by Tammy Ryan. Tar Beach opens to previews on Thursday April 9, 2015 and runs Thursdays through Sundays through May 9th. Opening night is Friday April 17, 2015. Select performances are followed by Talkbacks with the Creative Team. Tickets range from $25-$35 dollars. Celebrate the holiday season with a new play co-written by Elizabeth Synnott and Ken Melamed, and weaved together with familiar holiday songs. Finding Christmas, stars Ms. Synnott with a special appearance by Teddy Coluca, and will be directed by Ken Melamed, with music direction by Barbara Ciannella, lights and sound design by Phil Sosinsky and set design by Kristin Kruger.

Last summer Beach Haven's Surflight Theatre came back from superstorm Sandy with a superb production of 'Les Miserables' starring Broadway's Bart Shatto as Jean Valjean. This summer, Broadway's got 'Les Mis,' but luckily the beach still has Bart. Shatto currently stars as not one, but two 19th century protagonists, 'Jekyll & Hyde,' in Frank Wildhorn's 1997 musical sensation. It's almost as if he were playing Valjean and Javert. If such a thing were possible, Shatto would be the man to do it.

Surflight Theatre, celebrating its 65th Anniversary Season of Broadway at the Beach presents the musical thriller Jekyll & Hyde from June 18 through July 6.

Scott D. Miller has announced a change in casting for the special concert presentation of CHESS, the hit Broadway and London musical, today, December 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Richland Performing Arts Center, on the campus of Richland High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
