Baritone Thomas Hampson will give his first performances as the New York Philharmonic's Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence when he joins the Orchestra, led by Neeme Järvi, for performances of Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony, Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 6, at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Patricia Racette is the first soprano since Teresa Stratas 20 years ago to sing all three leading soprano roles in Puccini's Il Trittico at the Met. Comprised of three one-act operas, Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, and Gianni Schicchi, Il Trittico returns to the Met in the production by Jack O'Brien that was a popular and critical hit at its premiere in 2007.

Entitled 'The Merry Wives of Windsor Women's Correctional Facility,' this subversive look at a classic comic text examines sex, love, and class warfare through the lens of a contemporary women's prison. The production, which will be directed by Jodi Smith and Yasmine Jahanmir, will run from March 24th-29th at The Access Theatre (380 Broadway, 4th floor).

The Met's acclaimed production of Puccini's Madama Butterfly, directed by the late Academy Award-winning film director Anthony Minghella, returns to the stage for twelve performances beginning Friday, October 24, 2008. Reprising their portrayals in the production this season are sopranos Patricia Racette and Cristina Gallardo-Domâs in the title role, tenors Roberto Aronica and Marcello Giordani as Pinkerton, and baritone Dwayne Croft as Sharpless. Patrick Summers conducts the opera for the first time at Met.
