Join The Washington Ballet for three free performances at DC’s The Plaza at CityCenter, June 8, 9 and 10 at 6:30 pm. Each evening features a unique program of classical ballet and contemporary works performed by artists of The Washington Ballet. 

The Washington Ballet presents its full-length production of the iconic ballet The Sleeping Beauty May 4-7, 2023, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. 

The Washington Ballet presents a one act version of The Sleeping Beauty – Aurora's Wedding and George Balanchine's Theme and Variations April 7-9 at the Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. 

The Washington Ballet has announced that Artistic Director Julie Kent will conclude her tenure with the Company at the end of the 2022–2023 season. Ms. Kent has accepted a new leadership role as Co-Artistic Director of Houston Ballet, effective July 2023.

The Washington Ballet today announced that five members of its Studio Company have been promoted into the Company. The dancers are: Andrea Allmon; Rafael Bejarano; Nicholas Cowden; Audrey Malek; and Isaac “Rench” Soriano. 

The Washington Ballet announces casting for this week’s performances of Giselle, April 28-May 1 at The Warner Theatre. Several company members will make role debuts, including Ashley Murphy-Wilson in the title role, Gian Carlo Perez, Masanori Takiguchi and Andile Ndlovu as Albrecht, Oscar Sanchez and Daniel Roberge as Hilarion.  

The Washington Ballet brings the quintessential story ballet Giselle to the Warner Theatre in six performances, April 28–May 1.

Julie Kent, Artistic Director and Victor Barbee, Associate Artistic Director and the entire company have given us a Swan Lake to savor. The Washington Ballet’s production of this beloved classic is performed with sensitivity and an urgent sense of dramatic passion.

The Washington Ballet will premiere its long-awaited production of Swan Lake, February 9–13 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Company was just days away from debuting this new production of the iconic ballet in March of 2020, when the start of the pandemic forced an indefinite postponement. 

The Washington Ballet has announced details of its 2022 Winter/Spring season, including single-ticket availability for its new and long-awaited production of Swan Lake, opening in February 2022 at the Kennedy Center.

The Washington Ballet today announced its 2021/22 “Season of Gratitude,” marking the company’s return to live performances after more than 16 months of pandemic-related strictures. The 2021/22 season features five productions, including an Opening Performance Celebration, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and more.

The Sleeping Beauty Soiree - a fundraiser hosted by the Women's Committee of The Washington Ballet - raised $140,000 the evening of Friday, February 8 to benefit the company's artistic programs. Over 250 guests were transported through a magical forest and into Princess Aurora's 16th birthday celebration at the Homer Building in downtown Washington, D.C. The enchanted world of The Sleeping Beauty complete with heralding trumpeters, dueling knights, courtiers, singers from the Washington Revels and costumed dancers from The Washington Ballet provided a medieval backdrop that paired with a gourmet buffet, signature cocktails, and dancing.

The Washington Ballet will debut its full length version of the breathtakingly iconic ballet The Sleeping Beauty February 27-March 3, 2019 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Set to Tchaikovsky's enchanting score, this fairy tale of true love that conquers all and the power of good over evil comes to life through the beauty of classical dance, with Princess Aurora, her dashing Prince and other quintessential storybook characters.

Be transported to medieval times and experience the magical world of The Sleeping Beauty at Princess Aurora's 16th birthday in an evening that includes an exquisite selection of wines, signature cocktails, food and dancing. The Sleeping Beauty Soire e promises to be a transformative experience like no other Friday, February 8 at 7:30 pm in celebration of The Washington Ballet.

The Washington Ballet announces updates to its company roster for the 2018.19 season.

American Ballet Theatre's 2019 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 13 - July 6, will feature a World Premiere work by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky in programs dedicated entirely to his works in honor of the choreographer's 10th year with the Company.
