Photo Flash: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Hosts Usher Appreciation Party


Over 500 volunteer ushers were honored at the annual Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Usher Appreciation Party on May 10. The ushers were applauded for their dedication and generosity in volunteering their time; without them the City-owned theater would not be able to operate. All the City Commissioners were in attendance and the then-outgoing Commissioners Atwell and Chapman were acknowledged for their strong support of the Hall over the years.

Nominated Films Announced for 2014 Bronzelens Awards


Films representing the United States, Africa and South America comprise the 22 films nominated for BronzeLens Awards. “Our 2014 nominated films represent the art of movie making at its best in all platforms and genres”, said Deidre McDonald, BronzeLens Film Festival Artistic Director.

1944 - the year of D-Day but the war is not yet over. Each year there has been hope that the end is in sight. There are still many stories to be told - tales of heroism and remorse, pain and joy. Tapestry Theatre Company revisits that year in America's history with an updated script, new music and arrangements, presented by many cast and band members from past years of the Christmas from Home series, joined by several performers new to the Tapestry stage.
