 Milwaukee Rep willpresent an Artists Lounge Live Production of Country Sunshine: The Legendary Ladies of Nashville With Katie Deal in the Stackner Cabaret September 8 – October 29, 2023. 

These legendary acts eventually made way for performers such as Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill and present-day hitmakers Maren Morris, Yola, and Brandi Carlile. The exhibit celebrates a dynamic group of female songwriters and performers who come from diverse backgrounds and draw from a wide array of musical influences.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is accepting submissions for the Writer-Director Communications Lab, an amazing opportunity for directors and writers to meet and hone their ability to talk productively with each other. The deadline for writer submissions is extended to Friday, December 3, 2021.

Award-winning country music artist Katie Deal (ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE; CLASSIC NASHVILLE ROADSHOW) soulfully embodies the tender heartache of Patsy Cline. Georgia-born singer/songwriter/storyteller Katie Deal radiates authenticity, possessing the power to break hearts with her sheer simplicity.

 The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center of Palo Alto proudly announces  the Fall-Winter Season for its 2016-2017 Arts & Dialogues series, featuring an array of luminaries, innovators and world-renowned performers at the OFJCC's Albert & Janet Schultz Cultural Arts Hall in Palo Alto.

"Keep on the Sunny Side," the famous tale of the Carter family and the love story of A.P. and Sara Carter will be performed at the most deserving venue in the country. Hear the music and re-live the passion where the story first began, The Carter Family Fold.

Barter has a rich tradition of producing new plays, many of which have originated in this festival, known as the AFPP. This year, the festival includes readings of seven brand new Appalachian plays July 7 - 14, 2014 as well as a "mini-production" of a world-premiere musical, "Winter Wheat," July 29- August 10.

The songs and story of the original Carter family, told against the backdrop of their Virginia roots and the love story that made country music famous. A.P., Maybelle and Sara Carter are brought to life in this telling look at their lives and music - music that defined their time and their way of life: 'Will The Circle Be Unbroken', 'Wildwood Flower', 'My Clinch Mountain Home', 'Keep On The Sunny Side', and so many more.

It is highly unlikely that while Laura Ingalls Wilder was writing about the 'LITTLE HOUSE IN THE BIG WOODS' (Pepin, Wisconsin) or 'LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE' (Walnut Grove, Minnesota), that she ever thought the characters of her story would make it as far as California, let alone gather together South of the boarder on the high seas of the Pacific Ocean.
