Philip Correia BIO

Philip is an actor and writer from Blyth in Northumberland. He is also half Portuguese.

After leaving LAMDA Phil appeared in ‘The History Boys’ in the West End, NT and on tour.

He has done TV, film, radio, video games and lots of theatre, but enjoyed most appearing in Simon Stephen’s ‘Country Music’ which toured Yorkshire’s Prison System and travelling around the world with ETT’s Othello and Shakespeare’s Globe’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.

He loved being in Pitman Painters, Betrayal, The Hunters and Atlantis.

He loves community projects and working with young people. He facilitates play reading groups with Mental Health system service users.


Phil’s debut play HYEM, premiered at Theatre503 and Northern Stage and was supported by ETT Forge and ACE. His second play, an adaptation of ‘The invisible Man’ is due to be performed at Northern Stage.

English Touring Theatre today announces the full cast for the upcoming revival of Richard Twyman's critically acclaimed production of Othello, a co-production with Oxford Playhouse and Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory. Richard Twyman directs Kitty Archer (Desdemona), Philip Correia (Cassio), Naby Dakhli (Montano), James Ellis (Duke), James Godden (Soldier/Senator), Paul McEwan (Iago) Victor Oshin (Othello) and Kelly Price (Emilia) joining returning cast members Chris Bianchi (Brabantio), Hayat Kamille (Bianca), Brian Lonsdale (Roderigo) and John Sandeman (Lodovico).

Mick and Sylv's (Patrick Driver and Charlie Hardwick) home is a safe haven for some of the teenagers living in a small town in Northumberland. Dummey (Ryan Nolan), Laura (Aimee Kelly), and Shelley (Sarah Balfour) are all there for different reasons, united in the love the two adults give them.
