These exhibitions strive to celebrate and build on the illustrious history of 57th Street, featuring artists whose contributions have cemented the area as the longest standing gallery district in New York. Part I of the series opens with a focus on Abstract Expressionism and Color Field painting, with works that represent an important development in American art history from the 1950's-1980's. Following World War II, New York became the capital of the art world, largely due to Abstract Expressionism emerging as the first truly American art movement. The epicenter of that movement was 57th Street, where premier galleries of the time exhibited this groundbreaking work, which has since become an established and respected genre.

THESE TREES ARE MADE OF BLOOD, a new play about Argentina's Dirty War, premiered in The Little at Southwark Playhouse in April 2015 to sold out audiences and rave reviews. A limited edition cast recording of the songs from the show was recorded live at Southwark Playhouse on a sunny bank holiday afternoon in April 2015 in between shows and is now available for purchase!

These Trees Are Made of Blood, a new play about Argentina's Dirty War, will play in The Little at Southwark Playhouse from Wednesday 18 March to Saturday 11 April 2015, with a press night on Friday 20 March at 8.00pm.

Southwark Playhouse's 2015 spring season in The Little has been announced, including two world premieres, and one revival will play between February and April. As previously announced, Upper Cut will open the season in January.
