Since outdoor performance permits are not being given at this time, Theater for the New City has adapted its 2020 Street Theater tour to the virtual space. 

Summer Street Theater is one of the delights of the season and has been central to Theater for the New City's mission since the organization's first such production in 1976.

Lyrics for Life is a concert series that has been seen in New York City and Los Angeles since 2014, featuring young talent from Broadway, TV, film, London's West End, award-winning dancers, musicians, and more.

Theater for the New City's award-winning Street Theater Company will open its 43rd annual tour August 3 with 'No Brainer or the Solution to Parasites,' a rip-roaring musical which portrays our road to national madness as a bad trip to Hades. Free performances will tour parks, playgrounds and closed-off streets throughout the five boroughs through September 15. Book, lyrics and direction are by Crystal Field; the musical score is composed and arranged by Joseph Vernon Banks. (Schedule follows at bottom of this document.)

The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre in Netcong opens its Main Stage season with 'The Wizard of Oz.' Siblings Grace and Jack Sweeney will be featured cast members for the Axelrod Performing Arts Center's upcoming production of "Ragtime, The Musical," which will run from March 3-25 and will be directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, who is returning to the theater after last year's successful production of "In the Heights."

Lyrics for Life has released a recording and music video to Pasek & Paul's You Will Be Found in honor of National Suicide Prevention Week. The video features 140 performers from Broadway, National Tours, TV, Film, singer/songwriters and award-winning dancers, all under the age of 25.

In this moving piece, a new arrival's influence forces the residents of an underground women's shelter to confront their own secrets. This powerful drama explores the passion of youth, the wisdom of age, and the people who awaken us to new possibilities. Playing February 21-March 12, 2017. Directed by Drew Fracher.

Mackenzie Ziegler ('Dance Moms') and Casey Simpson (Nickelodeon's 'Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn') hosted Lyrics For Life on Sat, Sept 10, 2016 at Symphony Space. Held on World Suicide Prevention Day, the event aims to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health. Proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the nation's largest non-profit dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
