NYC Public Schools (NYC DOE) and the Partnership for New York City are launching the city's second Career Discovery Week, a public-private initiative that brings public high schoolers into workplace settings across the city for a day of career exploration.

Encompass New Opera Theatre and Gala Honorary Chairs Zoe Caldwell, Sheldon Harnick, John Kander, and Maury Yeston will honor legendary songwriting team LYNN AHRENS and STEPHEN FLAHERTY and playwright TERRENCE MCNALLY (Ragtime, Chita Rivera: A Dancer's Life, A Man of No Importance, and their upcoming Broadway musical, Anastasia) with a star-studded musical salute on Sunday, October 23.

Playwrights Kirk Lynn, Martin Zimmerman, and Joanna Garner will workshop new plays as part of the inaugural groundswell playwrights conference (GPC) January 17-23, 2016, in Austin, Texas. The conference is a new initiative to connect the work of artists from The University of Texas at Austin MFA theatre program with the Austin and national theatre communities.
