Lorraine Serabian BIO

Lorraine Serabian has had a long and varied career as a performer in Musicals and Non-Musicals on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional and International Theater, TV and Film. She studied extensively and exclusively with Uta Hagen and is now on the faculty of the H.B. Studio founded my Ms. Hagen and Herbert Berghof where she teaches Musical Theater as well as Scene Study and technique. She was honored by her Alma Mata Hofstra University with the distinguished George M. Estabrooke Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts, accompanied by a citation from the Congress of the United States. She created the role of the Leader on Broadway in the Hal Prince production of ZORBA! for which she received a Tony Award nomination and the Outer Critics Circle Award (Ms. Serabian also received a Barrymore Nomination when she reprieved her role in ZORBA! in the revival). She starred as Maria Callas in a tour of Master Class. Other Broadway credits include CABARET, THE FLOWERING PEACH (NAT) and CARMELINA.
She won the Helen Hayes Award for SHOW ME WHERE THE GOOD TIMES ARE and a nomination for LUCKY STIFF at the Olney Theater. Regionally Ms. Serabian has appeared in theaters across the United States winning critical praise for GYPSY, FIDDLER (Austin Table Award), INTO THE WOODS and A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Pioneer Theater, S.L.C), ON THE TOWN (Arena Stage, D.C.)TALE OF CINDERELLA (PBS Special). Law and Order, SVU.
