This year, The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway will honor Leigh Silverman -- director of MCC's current production of Neil LaBute's All The Ways to Say I Love You starring Judith Light and The New Group's upcoming production of Sweet Charity starring Sutton Foster -- with the Artistic Inspiration Award.

Giving audiences an unbridled and candid look behind the scenes of the Broadway curtain, NCM(R) Fathom Events, Overnight Musicals and The Broadway League just presented 'One Night Stand: Creating a Play in a Day,' a unique one-night event broadcast to movie theaters nationwide last night, Jan. 30. This fast-paced, hilarious and entertaining film follows some of New York's top actors, including Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock, Glee), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), as well as teams of writers, composers and directors as they are given 24 hours to write, cast, compose, rehearse and perform four short musicals. At the end of the 24 hours, the musicals make their opening, and closing, night at New York City's Gramercy Theatre. The event will also present exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the stars of 'One Night Stand' as they share intimate stories of life on Broadway. The National Arts Club announced the finalists for The 24 Hour Plays will include Bekah Brunstetter, Josh Koenigsberg, Margaret McCloskey, Megan Mostyn-Brown, Harrison Rivers, and Mac Rogers for the Montblanc Writers Project. Talenthouse.com will feature portions of the plays on their website and take votes to find the winner of the contest. The winner will be the feature of the next 24 Hour Plays.

Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray, High School Musical) will be the host and musical guest of the upcoming The 24 Hour Plays Off Broadway on July 13 at the Atlantic Theater. Laura Breckenridge ('Gossip Girl'), Joey Slotnick ('Nip/Tuck'), Julie Halston (Hairspray, 'Sex and the City'), Patrick Heusinger (Next Fall, 'Gossip Girl'), Max Casella ('The Sopranos'), and Russell Jones (Ruined) will join the At Play ensemble in this exciting Off Broadway theatrical event.
