Portland Shakespeare Project, in collaboration with Play On Shakespeare, brings a modern verse translation of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale to Portland for eight days, beginning on Thursday, July 7, and closing on Sunday, July 17. Artists Repertory Theatre presents 4000 Miles, a heartfelt and funny drama by one of American theatre's important new voices, Amy Herzog. One of the most acclaimed and widely produced new plays in recent years, 4000 Miles features a diverse, four-person cast and is directed by Alana Byington, a Portland director who has a long history with Artists Rep and who has directed many of the theatre's productions throughout its 33-year history.

With William Shakespeare's farewell masterpiece, The Tempest, Portland Shakespeare Project will entertain summer audiences with some of the world's most glorious poetry in this production directed by Michael Mendelson. A staged reading of The Admirable Crichton by J.M. Barrie will serve as a delightful three-day theatrical complement, directed by Jon Kretzu.
