New York Theatre Barn, in association with the Broadway Podcast Network, has announced the launch of its new podcast The Musicals of Tomorrow. An exploration of new musicals, as well as conversations with the writers and creative teams, based on their award-winning YouTube Series.
New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its award-winning New Works Series on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at 7PM EST, featuring excerpts from the new musicals On This Side Of The World and The Village Of Vale. The live 1-hour presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team.
New York Theatre Barn will continue to host free live streams of its New Works Series on select Wednesday evenings at 7PM ET. For the past year, the company has presented 37 virtual installments of its New Works Series (among other programming), showcased 78 new musicals, and lifted up the work of 131 writers and over 400 artists.
In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 40 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2020 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 15 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.
Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep), announced the full schedule for this season's popular Monday Night Playwright Series, which opened with BURIED ROOTS, its first play of the series, on Monday.
