As BDT's performances move back inside for the winter, we are proud to announce It Takes Two: The Duets Of BDT, an incredible evening of songs and stories starring Tracy Warren, Scott Beyette, Lily Buonocore, Wayne Kennedy, Joanie Brosseau-Rubald, and Scott Severtson, accompanied by Neal Dunfee on piano. The troupe will sing your favorite duets from previous BDT shows, as well as other Broadway classics and a few of their personal favorites.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive response, BDT Stage will continue the Outdoor Concert Series through September. Patrons are assigned socially-distanced plots on our south lot. They bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, are served a pre-ordered picnic dinner and light dessert, and enjoy a live outdoor concert in the early evening.
Some shows in the Christmas theatre canon are taken from classic stories such as A Christmas Carol, while others perhaps form a more original holiday tale. And then there are the special few that can only be described as "cult-classic." In A Christmas Story, we once again meet little Ralphie and his family as he hopes for a Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun from Santa - or at least his parents. From the infamous scene at the flag pole to the leg-lamp in the window for all the neighbors to see, this current production at BDT Stage has it all for those wishing to live out a live version of their favorite Christmas movie.
Hot. Shredded. Cheese. You know what I'm talking about. That gooey kind that stretches from the plate to your mouth, and you just can't get enough. That's how BDT Stage's current '80s jukebox musical Rock of Ages feels.
Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Who needs 'em?! Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the new musical comedy that's anything but Grimm. Forget the princesses you think you know. After multiple sold-out runs nationwide, and nominations for 2015 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical and a 2015 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical, these royal renegades are tossing off tiaras to bring their hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical to Boulder - and fairy tales will never be the same! DISENCHANTED! begins preview performances March 3, and plays at BDT Stage through May 6, 2017.

Any show that starts with the death and mourning of the title character, whether it is good or bad, is going to leave an immediate impact. Evita, the enduring musical biography of Eva Peron does just that, with extremely difficult music by musical theatre kingpin Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lyrics by Tim Rice.

It takes a special kind of movie to be converted into a stage musical. Luckily for Footloose, with a dance-centric plot serenaded by some rad '80s tunes, it's got something to work with.

The one thing that was evident throughout the awesome performance was the heart that was exuded from the actors in this show.

This show was wonderfully executed and hit the ground tapping. This featured some fierce talents in tap and I sat there amazed at several of the numbers.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is truly a gay, show-within-a-show romp for the ages. At first I was like 'What gay holy hell is this?!'
