I highly recommend that those who enjoy history, english, and theater, work as a dramaturg. This is a more scholarly part of the theatrical process and it aids the storytelling unlike anything else. Dramaturgs live in the world of the play from the production's beginning to its end and work from the perspective of the audience as well as the actors. Though an often overlooked and unknown part of a production team, a dramaturg's work greatly aids the rehearsal process and telling of the for the actors and audience.

Imy Wyatt Corner today announces Jade Williams will perform Everywoman. The one-woman show, directed by Amelia Sears and written anonymously, opens on 18 February, with previews from 17 February and runs until 22 February.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced that the New York premiere play Animal by Clare Lizzimore (Mint) and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch (Harper Regan, Bluebird) has been extended an additional week through Sunday, July 2 in advance of officially opening next Tuesday, June 6.
Clare Barron's DANCE NATION Wins 2017 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize
The 2017 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.S. playwright Clare Barron for her play Dance Nation. On March 6, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a ceremony honoring the winner and finalists of the prize and celebrating the 39th anniversary of the international prize, which is based in Houston.
PLENTY, Starring Rachel Weisz, Extends Again at The Public
The Public Theater has announced a final extension today for the first major New York revival of PLENTY, written by David Hare. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, the show began performances on Tuesday, November 4 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Thursday, December 1, with an official press opening Sunday, October 23.
MARIE AND ROSETTA Extends by Two Weeks Off-Broadway
Atlantic Theater Company has announced that the world premiere production of George Brant's play with music, Marie and Rosetta, starring Kecia Lewis (Mother Courage, Once on This Island) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and directed by Atlantic Artistic Director Neil Pepe, has been extended an additional two weeks due to popular demand following opening last night to positive reviews.
