Babes With Blades Theatre Company's (BWBTC) 2023 season opens with an extended run of its new works festival, collectively called Fighting Words, June 17– 25 at The Edge Off Broadway, 1133 W. Catalpa.  All performances are free to the public and audiences can provide feedback on the scripts following each reading.

Now in its 26th year, the Babes With Blades latest season includes an extended run of its new works festival, the Fighting Words Festival, June 17 – 25 at The Edge Off Broadway, 1133 W. Catalpa, and The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster and directed by Artistic Director Hayley Rice from September 8  – October 21 at The Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St.

Babes With Blades Theatre Company (BWBTC) returns to live performances with its 2022 season and its presentation of William Shakespeare’s Richard III, in partnership with the University of Illinois Chicago’s Disability Cultural Center and directed by Richard Costes, August 25 – October 15, at The Edge Theater, 5451 N. Broadway Ave, with select performances being live streamed.

As theater continues to recover from the pandemic interruption, First Folio Theatre has announced its 2022-2023 season. The final season begins with a classic farce: JEEVES INTERVENES by Margaret Raether based on the works of P.G. Wodehouse, which runs November 5 through December 4, 2022.

First Folio Theatre presents the World Premiere of Joseph Zettelmaier’s THE JIGSAW BRIDE, previewing October 13th-15th, opening October 16th and running through November 14th, 2021. 

A mesmerizing tale of gothic horror and suspense, The Jigsaw Bride transports the audience to the world of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, where 100 years have passed and something or someone lies in the ruins of the infamous Castle of Dr. Frankenstein.

The Festival, which is free and open to the public is available online and in person, features readings of three scripts in the development process.  After each reading the audience has an opportunity to provide feedback for the playwright.
