Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra pairs exclusive musical performances with delectable international cuisine at LACO la carte, six intimate, elegant fundraising evenings, three each in the fall and spring, celebrating Mexico, Germany and other nations in the spectacular private homes of members of the region's international community. The unique events this fall, each highlighting a single country or theme, include Los Angeles la carte at a luxurious private Beverly Hills residence on October 8, 6 pm; Mexico la carte at the Hancock Park residence of the Consul General of Mexico on October 28, 7 pm; and Germany la carte at the Hancock Park residence of the Consul General of Germany on November 30, 7 pm.

Four talented emerging playwrights of color - members of the 2015 INKtank Playwrights Lab - will unveil their exciting new works when Rising Circle Theater Collective presents its 6th annual PlayRISE Festival, a series of staged readings featuring two-time Tony Award nominee Mary Testa (On the Town, 42nd Street), Henry Yuk (Awake & Sing), Tia James (The Public's The Merchant of Venice), and Frankie J. Now featuring an updated script, new fights, new special FX, and introducing VC's own Robert Ross Parker in the role of Edgar the Demonic Bear! This Halloween, come party with the Geeks for Vampire Cowboys Alice in Slasherland. Written by Qui Nguyen and directed by Robert Ross Parker, the show will feature: Tom Myers, Eugene Oh, Robert Ross Parker, Nicky Schmidlein, Bonnie Sherman and Emily Williams. The show runs tonight, October 24 - November 2, 2013.

Santa Monica residents Marc Hayutin and Eugene Ohr have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) for three-year terms, announces LACO President K. Eugene Shutler. Hayutin is head partner at Sidley Austin's Los Angeles Real Estate Group and Co-Global Coordinator for the firm's world-wide Real Estate Practice Area Team. Ohr serves as a senior vice president and investment analyst at the Capital Group Companies. LACO, one of the nation's leading orchestras, is renowned for its wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous commissioning initiatives.

Japan Society proudly presents a staged reading of Strolling Invader by Japanese playwright Tomohiro Maekawa, directed by New York-based theater artist Aya Ogawa.
