Next up on SummerStage is The Rock Steady Crew's 36th Anniversary Concert featuring a reunion performance by Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Brand Nubian (Sadat X, Lord Jamar and Grand Puba), Special Ed and Craig G with Q-Unique, Homeboy Sandman, Torae and RasheEd Chappell. Today's July 28 show is a part of the 'This is Hip Hop' series and will be hosted by EOW with DJ Evil Dee and DJ JS-1. The show runs from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Central Park with a recommended arrival time of 2:00 p.m.
City Parks Foundation has just recently launched the 2013 season of SummerStage presented by AT&T, New York's largest free performing arts festival, bringing over 100 free performances to seventeen parks throughout the five boroughs. With performances ranging from Soul, Hip-Hop, Latin and Opera music to dance, comedy and theater, SummerStage fills a vital niche in New York City's summer arts festival landscape. Since its inception twenty-eight years ago, more than six million people from New York City and around the world have enjoyed SummerStage. The festival runs from June 4th until August 29th.

Theatre in the Square's first season included a revival of the 1939 Broadway hit, The Little Foxes. In the theatre's 29th Season, the American classic of greed, deception, corruption and manipulation will once again grace the Main Stage of the converted cotton warehouse that is now Theatre in the Square. Atlanta Lyric Theatre Artistic Director and General Manager Brandt Blocker announced today that Alan Kilpatrick, a local award-winning actor and director, will assume the position of associate artistic director for the 31-year-old musical theatre company. In addition to Kilpatrick, Daniel Pattillo has been hired as the company's new full-time technical director and Amy McGuire, current box office manager, has been promoted to business and administrative manager.

Kandis Chappell and Melanie Lora take on the celebrated roles of Professor Ruth Steiner and Lisa Morrison in Donald Margulies? Collected Stories at South Coast Repertory. Margulies? Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about two women writers at opposite stages of their careers is one of SCR?s best-known commissions and has achieved worldwide success. Directed by Artistic Director Martin Benson, Collected Stories will run from May 15 through June 14, 2009 on the Segerstrom Stage. Low-priced previews are available from May 15 through May 21. Opening night is May 22.
