With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 200 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 29th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 24 to 26 in and around Theater for the New City.

Frog & Peach Theatre Company has announced their upcoming production of William Shakespeare's King Lear. Known for their thrilling and accessible adaptations of Shakespeare's plays, Frog & Peach Theatre Company will captivate audiences once again with their rendition of this startlingly relevant tragedy.

Admission is free but donations will be gratefully accepted.

On October 6th, Frog & Peach Theatre Company premiered AS YOU LIKE IT at Theatre 71. The Shakespeare ensemble returned to the stage with a LIVE showing of their long-anticipated comedy blockbuster.  TW Fest Curator David Kaplan said, "This year, we are thrilled to have one of today's great American playwright with us -- John Guare.   Guare, the world-renown author of Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves, is bringing a staged reading of his new laugh out-loud-play, More Stars Than There Are in Heaven, to our 10th Anniversary celebration of the life and work of Tennessee Williams."

Preview performances are set for Today, June 10 and Thursday, June 11 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Friday, June 12 at 8 p.m. and the show closes on Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. Performances are scheduled for Todays, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. Running time is one hour and 40 minutes with one 15 minute intermission. The theatre is located at 549 W. 52nd Street, 3rd Floor, near 11th Ave., subway C/E 50th St.
