The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, has announced the schedule for its 54th series of classic films and cult favorites. The 2023 series will run June 15-July 16 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) and feature 19 films over five weeks.

However, 'pulp' became synonymous with trashy, back alley reading punctuated with cheap sensationalist thrills, fast-paced plot lines and bad writing. Tell that last bit to John Lange (aka Michael Crichton), Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, and Dashiell Hammett (The Thin Man, and Sam Spade) who have all had off-shoot careers in pulp.

Based on an obscure 90 year old short story by Dashiell Hammett and sold out at festivals all over the world, this genre smashing play is one of the only stage shows in the world which incorporates magic effects into a story that's about anything other than magic.

Award-winning company New Old Friends have announced an additional date for their return  to Theatre Royal Bath with Crimes, Camera, Action which will now run from 25th – 28th August.
