The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced Hip Hop &, a new annual season focus highlighting hip hop’s intersections with other genres, forms, and disciplines.

The initial wave of artists includes Jadakiss, E-40, Rakim, Talib Kweli, Digable Planets, and AZ, along with a cast of DJs that set the tone for the inaugural cruise, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Mannie Fresh, and Rock The Bells Radio's own The Finisher Mister Cee, DJ Scratch, and DJ Epps. Roxanne Shante and Torae will return as hosts.

The Kennedy Center has announced that Grammy®-winning American hip hop group De La Soul will join the new festival series, Hip Hop &.

The Kennedy Center launching its new Hip Hop & Jazz Festival, taking place from March 27 to April 19, 2024. Featuring a dynamic lineup of hip hop and jazz performances.

The album features a myriad of A-list guests, including Andra Day, BJ The Chicago Kid, Boyz II Men, Keke Palmer, 2023 Stellar® Awards New Artist of The Year Lena Byrd Miles, and more. With a total of ten joyful songs, A LEGACY CHRISTMAS warms up the season as the perfect soundtrack!

Nicky Jam (Bad Boys for Life) is set to star in the project, as well as produce as through La Industria, Inc., which he founded Brooks McLaren and D.J. Cotrona are attached to pen the screenplay. The two have already appeared on the famed Black List for their action-fueled script Fight or Flight.

Grxwn Fxlks collaborated with an A-List of legendary engineers to evolve their sound. Grammy Award-Winners Neal Pogue (Tyler the Creator, Outkast), Derek “MixedbyAli” Ali (Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller), Mike Bozzi (J Cole, Nas), Elton “L10MixedIt” Cheung (Chance The Rapper, Kehlani) and several notable others.

The festival concourse will be rounded out by the Toyota SoundStage featuring performances by Mary J. Blige with the Roots, Summer Walker, WizKid, Kirk Franklin, Jazmine Sullivan and more; the CIROC and DeLeón VIP Experience, Everything Legendary Stage, Picnic Village with local businesses and non-profits.
