Christopher Leidenfrost is a theatrical, film, musical and improv performer known for his chameleon-like appearance and voice. He has performed in over 160 shows, films, and special event performances including: The Greatest Pirate Story Never Told! (Capt. Martin), Falsettos (Whizzer), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), Thrill Me: The Leopold & Leob Story (Nathan Leopold), Assassins (Zangara), 1776 (Rutledge), and The Last of Mrs. Lincoln (Robert T. Lincoln). Chris is also a producer, director, musician, costume and scenic designer, graphic artist, event manager, father of four (dogs) and a professional pirate (he was voted one of the top 3 Jack Sparrow impersonators in the country in 2003).

When the Marsh family on the other side of the pond released their now famous 'One Day More' parody a few months ago, Long Island writer/performer Chris Leidenfrost was crestfallen. He too, had begun work on such a parody. Not only did they beat him to the punch, but it was brilliant!

Beautiful Soup's RAGS Opens Tonight Off-Broadway


The Beautiful Soup Theater, whose revival of Moose Murders recently played The Connelly Theatre, will return to that venue in May with a production of the short-lived musical RAGS. The musical, which closed on Broadway after only four performances in 1986, features a masterful score by Charles Strouse (Annie, Applause, Bye, Bye, Birdie!), lyrics by two-time Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz and a libretto by Joseph Stein. The musical has undergone extensive revisions over the years, and this version will reflect material from both the well-received 1994 American Jewish Theatre production and the 2011 Lyric Stage production.

Bethe Austin and More Sing from Charles Strouse Songbook at Beautiful Soup Theater Tonight


Bethe Austin (Broadway's Sly Fox, Onward Victoria!) will join the Beautiful Soup Theater tonight, March 23rd, 2013 as they celebrate the songbook of Charles Strouse (Rags, Annie, Applause, Bye, Bye, Birdie!). All proceeds from this one-night-only concert will be Beautiful Soup's revival of the Strouse, Schwartz and Stein musical Rags.
