In celebration of the Apollo’s Spring Benefit on Monday, June 13, the non-profit announced today it will release a limited edition non-fungible token commemorating the annual event. Approximately 400 NFTs will be issued  through Ticketmaster.

The Apollo today announced a full lineup of artists and performances at the non-profit’s annual spring fundraiser, taking place virtually on the Apollo Theater’s Digital Stage on Monday, June 7 at 7:30pm ET. This year’s benefit, APOLLO RESOUNDING, will feature performances by Grammy nominated singer MAJOR; jazz vocalists Alita Moses and more.

The Apollo today announced the non-profit’s annual spring fundraiser will take place virtually on the Apollo Theater’s Digital Stage on Monday, June 7 at 7:30pm ET. This year’s benefit, APOLLO RESOUNDING, will honor Felicia and Ben Horowitz with the inaugural Impact Award.

On the occasion of National Jazz Appreciation Month, and to honor the music, as well as the artists and figures who have made outstanding contributions to jazz, Jazz at Lincoln Center will celebrate the organization's 2021 gala, Innovation + Soul, with a virtual concert on Thursday, April 15, at 7:30p.m. ET.

Phillips, who has served on the Apollo’s Board of Directors since 2015 and most recently as its Vice Chairman, marked his new role with a generous $1 million gift to the Apollo Theater’s Emergency Fund, which was created to ensure the iconic non-profit’s continued financial stability amid its closure due to COVID-19.

Today, Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed members to the following Sector Advisory Councils: Labor and Workforce; Large Business; Small Business; and Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. Sector Advisory Councils will inform the Administration's efforts to restart the economy and city life. The councils will serve as critical links to disseminate information about re-opening and provide guidance to shape the City's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Membership of the councils on Faith, Construction and Real Estate, Non-Profits and Social Services, Public Health and Healthcare, Education and Vocational Training, and Surface Transportation will be announced in the coming days.

The Apollo Theater today announced details for its largest fundraising event - the 2017 Apollo Spring Gala, which will take place at the theater on Monday, June 12 at 7pm.

 Last evening, the Apollo Theater celebrated its 11th Annual Spring Gala raising $1.7M for its year-round artistic and community programming initiatives.  The concert portion of the evening was hosted by LL COOL J, and opened with the dynamic dancing duo Laurent & Larry Bourgeois of Les Twins.  The concert also featured performances by legendary R&B group, The O'Jays including rousing version of Love Train, The Backstabbers, For the Love of Money and more.  Rising star vocalist, Leon Bridges brought the crowd to its feet with a performance of Mustang Sally and vocalist Andra Day performed her hit song City Burns,followed by a touching performance of Unforgettable in tribute to legendary songstress Natalie Cole. Host LL COOL J also joined DJ D-Nice for a tribute to Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest - one of several iconic artists lost in 2016.

An additional five cities have joined the massive national campaign by African American business leaders to raise funds for free student admission to the Golden Globe-winning film 'SELMA,' expanding the unprecedented movement to a total of 13 cities, nationwide.

Featuring more than 75 designers, artists, craftspersons, and collectives, New Territories: Laboratories for Design, Craft and Art in Latin America will survey the innovative, cross-disciplinary collaborations and new directions in creative production that have been occurring throughout Latin America since 2000. On view from today, November 4, 2014 through February 22, 2015, the exhibition focuses on work emanating from a number of key cities that serve as cultural hubs for some of the most pertinent new ideas about art, design, and craft.
