Farmington Players Present One Act Festival


The Farmington Players are hosting a festival of short one-act plays written by playwrights with Michigan connections.  The eight finalists were selected from over 70 entries in a blind submission process, and audiences will vote for their favorite play, with the winning playwright taking home a $100 prize and the coveted “People’s Choice” award.

On the eve of Y2k, Mixtape follows the orphaned, awkward 12-year-old Beverly Moody (Gemma Brooke Allen) discovers a broken mixtape crafted by her teen parents who died in a car accident when she was a baby. The film also stars Audrey Hsieh, Olga Petsa, Jackson Rathbone, with Nick Thune and Julie Bowen.

TEN will play January 9 - 18, 2020 at 4802 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. Tickets for TEN are free for Gift subscribers and $10 for the general public. BWW Review: Syracuse City Ballet Performs a Phenomenal Production of PETER PAN at the Crouse Hinds Theater


A powerful and passionate production of Peter Pan dazzled audiences this past weekend at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater in Syracuse, New York. The Syracuse City Ballet out did their past productions with this high-flying adventurous ballet. The staging, the flying effects, and of course the dancing were all magnificent under the Syracuse City Ballet's Artistic Director Kathleen Rathbun (direction and choreography).

Dorset Theatre Festival, now in its 41st season, announced today the return of its popular PlayTalks, a series of guest speakers who are experts in their field intended to engage and inform regional audiences in rich and varied ways. The first PlayTalk of the season will take place at the Northshire Bookstore (4869 Main Street, Manchester Center, VT) on August 18 at 6:00 P.M. The event is free and open to the public. Bennington College professor of literature Brooke Allen will give the talk, entitled "The Ever-Modern Jane Austen."
