The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2017-2018 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, August 27, to patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party was generously hosted by Synchronicity Theatre, at 7:30pm, One Peachtree Pointe, 1545 Peachtree St. NE #102, Atlanta.  

Theatrical Outfit proudly presents the Atlanta professional debut of Perfect Arrangement by local award-winning playwright Topher Payne. Inspired by true stories of McCarthy-era social survival, this bubbly cocktail party-meets-TV sitcom simmers into poignant realism as two closeted couples, one gay and one lesbian, face exposure and a future more gray than Technicolor.

A new play about the event that rocked Atlanta from Peachtree Street to Auburn Avenue, The Temple Bombing recounts the 1958 attack on The Temple, Atlanta's oldest synagogue, which bolstered local and national support for dramatic social change. The Temple Bombing will have its world premiere on the Alliance Stage from February 22 - March 12, 2017. Booth (Blues for an Alabama Sky, The Geller Girls, August: Osage County), will feature some of Atlanta's most talented and well-respected actors in one of the largest ensembles of the 2015/16 season. The Alliance Theatre has announced the cast and creative team behind its upcoming production of the classic 1960s drama, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Dale Wasserman and based on the novel by Ken Kesey. The Alliance's production, directed by Susan V. Booth (Blues for an Alabama Sky, The Geller Girls, August: Osage County), will feature some of Atlanta's most talented and well-respected actors in one of the largest ensembles of the 2015/16 season.

Summer in the South is swathed in heat - as the mercury rises, personalities writhe and drama comes to a boil. Few stories capture the tumult of the region's hot spells as well as Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, and Serenbe is taking the heat of the story to new heights by setting it outside in the elements of a Georgian summer. The dark southern scope of Blanche DuBois' timeless and sultry tale of deception will be brought to new life in the industrial scenery of Serenbe's newly debuted Art Farm stage. There, the French Quarter of New Orleans will be resuscitated within rustic, recycled shipping containers to create a fresh, bold, timeless take on a true classic.
