Mexican Museum's Lecture Series to Showcase New Research on Ethnic Diversity


The Mexican Museum (TMM) will host a special presentation on August 17, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, by Dr. Carlos D. Bustamante, renowned Professor of Genetics and Co-Founding Director of the Center for Computational, Evolutionary, and Human Genomics at Stanford University. As part of TMM's public lecture series, the presentation highlights Dr. Bustamante's groundbreaking research on the genetic diversity found in Mexico's population. TMM, a Smithsonian Affiliate, is the premier West Coast museum of Mexican, Mexican-American, Chicano, Latin American and Latino art, culture and heritage. The talk is free and open to the public.

Guadalupe Rivera Marin Joins Mexican Museum's Arts & Letters Council


The Mexican Museum announces the appointment of Guadalupe Rivera Marin, daughter of renowned Mexican artist Diego Rivera, to the Museum's Arts and Letters Council. Rivera Marin will serve as an honorary co-chair with acclaimed actor, director and producer Edward James Olmos. Besides being an author and lecturer, Rivera Marin is also the founder and board chair of the Diego Rivera Foundation.

The Mexican Museum Partners with UNAM


The Mexican Museum, the premier West Coast museum of Mexican, Mexican-American, Chicano, Latin American and Latino art, culture and heritage, announces that it is embarking on a unique partnership with Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (National Autonomous University of Mexico) (UNAM) in Mexico City that will, among other things, bring Mexican artists in residence to San Francisco.

The Mexican Museum, the premier West Coast museum of Mexican, Mexican-American, Chicano, Latin American and Latino art, culture and heritage, announces that Andrew Kluger, Chairman of the Museum's Board of Directors, has returned from a trip to Mexico where he met with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. The purpose of the trip was to promote The Mexican Museum and inform President Peña Nieto and other government and civic leaders about the Museum's new building project and to invite them to the groundbreaking ceremony slated for early 2015.

Following the San Francisco Board of Supervisors' unanimous final approval of the new building project and its future museum home at Millennium Partners' 706 Mission Street in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Arts District, The Mexican Museum is proud to announce the latest additions to the Museum's esteemed Arts & Letters Council.
