Amith Chandrashaker BIO

Amith Chandrashaker is an Indian-American cinematographer and director who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with his unique visual style and technical expertise.
Born in Bangalore, India, Chandrashaker moved to the United States to pursue his passion for filmmaking. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he was awarded the prestigious Martin Scorsese Young Filmmaker Award for his short film "The Last Word."
Chandrashaker began his career as a cinematographer working on independent films and music videos. His work quickly caught the attention of industry professionals and he soon found himself working on larger productions. He made his Broadway debut as the cinematographer for the Tony Award-winning musical "Once," which was based on the 2007 film of the same name.
Chandrashaker's work on "Once" was praised for its intimate and immersive cinematography, which helped to bring the story's music and characters to life. His use of handheld cameras and natural lighting gave the production a raw and authentic feel that resonated with audiences and critics alike.
Following his success on Broadway, Chandrashaker continued to work on a variety of film and television projects. The film, which was directed by Anna Rose Holmer, tells the story of a young girl who joins a dance troupe and begins to experience mysterious seizures. Chandrashaker also worked as the cinematographer for the hit Netflix series "Master of None," which was created by and stars comedian Aziz Ansari. Chandrashaker's work on the show earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.
