Seattle Rep will welcome back director Tim Bond and a cast of Seattle veteran actors for its production of Lucy Kirkwood's post-apocalyptic drama The Children, beginning February 7 in the Leo K. Last night at the 6th Annual Save the Children Illumination Gala, Save the Children, the leading organization investing in childhood, honored award-winning journalist David Muir, anchor of ABC's "World News Tonight;" SB Projects Founder Scooter Braun; and the organization's philanthropic corporate partner Mondel?z International. The event, which took place onWednesday, Nov 14, 2018, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, was hosted by actor and Save the Children Trustee Jennifer Garner and featured a special musical performance by MILCK.

Following their innovative production of TITUS: A Visual-Physical Adaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, New York Deaf Theatre (NYDT) celebrates their 38th season with an accessible production of MAPLE AND VINE by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison. The production marks the New York theater directing debut of award-winning Deaf film director Jules Dameron. Previews begin May 11 at the Flea Theater with a gala performance on May 12 and an official press opening on Thursday, May 17 at 7:00pm. 

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is pleased to announce Concert for Dreams, a unique two-part concert experience and the first ever benefit concert in support of the Foundation. The two-part event will include an evening fundraising concert featuring O.A.R. and special guests, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels co-founder of Run-DMC and Garden of Dreams Board member, Gavin DeGraw, Robert Randolph, Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, Nate Ruess of fun., John Rzeznik of Goo Goo Dolls and Matt Nathanson at the Beacon Theatre on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.. Tickets for the evening fundraiser on-sale now, with all net proceeds going directly to Garden of Dreams. There will also be a dedicated Garden of Dreams kids concert on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. hosted by Elvis Duran of Z100, featuring O.A.R. and all of the evening performers plus Rachel Crow and Grace Vanderwaal. Lineup is subject to change.

The World Premiere of Don Nguyen's Hello, From the Children of Planet Earth opens tonight, on March 7 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Presented by The Playwrights Realm (Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director; Roberta Pereira, Producing Director) and directed by Jade King Carroll, this philosophical, and tender comedy is split between the perspectives of a lesbian couple trying to conceive, and their potential-sperm-donor/aerospace engineer friend as they're stretched to contemplate the unknowns of their future.

The African-based creative arts charity Dramatic Need and Carnegie Hall presented The Children's Monologues, a one-night-only theatrical event, in New York for the first time, on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Although I never watched their program, I do remember that Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker were wildly known almost as much for their outrageous personalities and sartorial style as their devotion to preaching the gospel of Jesus. It is easy to see why the pair became an unlikely surrogate family for the two teenagers from Detroit raised on that same belief, as they rapidly became the hottest stars in televangical America. But for the naive siblings, especially BeBe, it's not an easy lesson learning how to reconcile the temptations of fame and fortune with the things he ultimately values more. It's a wildy funny yet emotional journey toward self-discovery, told with great music and outstanding performances by siblings Juan Winans and Deborah Joy Winans (the children of Carvin Winans, Sr. and Deborah Winans) who portray their aunt CeCe and uncle BeBe with the utmost respect, magical stage presence, and the most amazing vocal pipes!

The 2017 Children's Musical Theater Festival took place July 15-16 in New York City at The Baruch Performing Arts Center. The 7th Annual festival was presented by Broadway Workshop and Project Broadway. The 2017 festival productions included a new version of the Queen Musical - We Will Rock You, part of the catalog at Theatrical Rights Worldwide and a brand new musical Giants in the Sky part of Beat By Beat Press licensing.
