The duo joined forces on February 4, for a special evening that mixes alternative rock and theater tunes with new material to create a modern American songbook. Co-written with songwriter Robbie Roth, the single is about refusing to stay silent, standing up for what you believe in and making some 'noise' for marriage equality. In 'Make Some NOISE,' the Broadway-star-turned-activist discusses his dreams for the movement, the 2012 election and the activism he hopes to inspire through music. TV: Lin-Manuel Miranda & Mandy Gonzalez Perform 'Empire State Of Mind' at AMERICAN SONGBOOK! Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook has returned to the Allen Room for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. For 16 nights the series is exploring the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting. The series kicked off last night, January 11, with a concert by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The evening opened with a surprise appearance by his In The Heights co-star, Mandy Gonzalez, for a remix of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Gotham anthem, 'Empire State of Mind'.

This August, from the 18th through the 21st, the Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will host its Summer Performing Arts Intensive in Philadelphia! During the intensive, attendees will receive first-rate training in acting, dance and vocal performance daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by savvy Broadway veterans who will share their invaluable insider knowledge on the skills needed to make it in show business. Students will also learn how to improve their audition skills (song selections and cold readings) and attend classes geared toward college and career planning (headshots and resumes). At week's end, all participants will have the opportunity to perform alongside their Broadway idols in a 'one night only' concert event. Tony-winner Alice Ripley (Next To Normal) will participate as the guest teacher for the intensive.
