Today, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah released his new album Ancestral Recall via Ropeadope / Stretch Music. So far the album has also been praised by New York Times, Afropunk, Highsnobiety, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, HipHopDX, Cool Hunting, Brooklyn Vegan, Exclaim!, Glide, Paste, and more. Collaborators on Ancestral Recall include Saul Williams, Elena Pinderhughes, Mike Larry Draw, Chris Turner, Weedie Braimah, Logan Richardson, and others.

Today, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah releases “Forevergirl,” the second single from his upcoming album Ancestral Recall (out March 22nd via the Ropeadope / Stretch Music labels). Featuring Chris Turner and Mike Larry Draw, the song was praised by The FADER who called it “a hypersyncopated but blissful love song.”  So far the album has also been praised by New York Times, Afropunk, Highsnobiety, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, HipHopDX, Cool Hunting, Brooklyn Vegan, and Paste, who said “the future of jazz is here and Adjuah is shattering boundaries in incredible ways.” Additional collaborators on Ancestral Recall include Saul Williams, Elena Pinderhughes, Weedie Braimah, Logan Richardson, and others.

Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah announces a March 22, 2019 release for his forthcoming album Ancestral Recall (via the Ropeadope / Stretch Music labels). Released today, the album's title track features poet laureate Saul Williams. Of the song, Highsnobiety proclaims that Adjuah “craft[s] rhythm-driven zones that are as transcendent as they are grounded in richly organic sonics.” Additional collaborators on the recording include Elena Pinderhughes, Weedie Braimah, Logan Richardson, Mike Larry Draw, Chris Turner, and others.

Today trumpeter, composer, and producer Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah received a GRAMMY nomination for his album The Emancipation Procrastination. Released on October 20th 2017 via Ropeadope, the album was final album in Adjuah's The Centennial Trilogy: a three-album series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the first jazz recordings. The Centennial Trilogy was praised by Pitchfork, NPR Music, Stereogum, GQ, The New York Times, Interview Magazine, Paste, The FADER, Noisey, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, and many more.

On December 7th the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader Eddie Palmieri will release Mi Luz Mayor, his second salsa album of the year on his newly launched imprint Uprising Music (through Ropeadope). Today, Palmieri releases the album's third single 'Mi Congo,' featuring Carlos Santana. Guitar World called the the collaboration 'lively, intricately beautiful,' while NPR's Felix Contreras said the song will 'change the perception of what you think an [81] year old should sound like. This is proof positive that we only get better with age.'
