Goodman Theatre announces the lineup for its 5th Latino Theatre Festival, a biennial event that has introduced more than 20,000 Chicagoans to prominent Latino theater companies around the globe. Goodman Resident Artistic Associate and Festival Curator Henry Godinez drew inspiration for this summer's lineup from two milestone events-the centennial of the Mexican Revolution and bicentennial of Mexico's independence. In addition, Teatro Buendía, one of Cuba's most celebrated independent theater companies, makes its U.S. debut.

The prize goes to an individual whose work stands out in providing creative and educational outlets that empower students to build a better world. Kauffman was chosen by Stowe's local School Council to receive the prize for developing Ravinia Festival's REACH*TEACH*PLAY educational programs.

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley announced that Friday, April 23, Shakespeare's 446th Birthday, will be Talk Like Shakespeare Day, an occasion for citizens to bring the spoken words of Shakespeare into their daily lives. "Chicago is recognized as the home not only of 'Da Bulls and 'Da Bears, but also 'Da Bard," said Mayor Daley in his formal city proclamation, issued this week. On April 23, Daley encourages citizens to "let boldness be thy friend and celebrate Shakespeare by vocal acclamation of his words."

More than 80 mayors were on hand for a special reception co-hosted by Mayor Richard M. Daley (City of Chicago) and Jeffery T. Sherwin (City of Northlake and Chair, Metropolitan Mayors Caucus). They were able to have a special meet and greet with the Chicago's Four Seasons (Michael Cunio as Tommy DeVito, Michael Ingersoll as Nick Massi, Dominic Scaglione Jr. as Frankie Valli and Shonn Wiley as Bob Gaudio).

In a special event celebration, Chicago Mayors Richard M. Daley (City of Chicago) and Jeffery T. Sherwin (City of Northlake and Chair, Metropolitan Mayors Caucus) will host mayors from the metropolitan area honoring the company of JERSEY BOYS, commemorating over two years of performances in Chicago at the Bank of America Theatre. The event will takes tonight, October 27 beginning at 6:45 p.m, with 9:45 p.m. special onstage curtain call at the Bank of America Theatre.
