Do not let your unfamiliarity with the 1968 movie stop you from watching Resorts World Manila's newest production, Ian Flemming's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In fact, in this case, having very limited knowledge prior to watching the show (we are, of course, aware of the flying car since it is being used in the show's promotional advertisements) made the experience more thrilling and enjoyable. Thus, in this review, we shall afford you with the same courtesy and not give too many details about the story. If you happen to know the movie, trust us, this production can still dazzle you with enough charm, making it a satisfying time at the theatre.

Repertory Philippines' (REP) 49th season culminates with a musical adaptation of A Little Princess, Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1905 children's novel. Just in time for the holidays, REP's offering comes in a mixed bag of splendor and disenchantment.

The Globe Iconic Store in the busy Bonifacio High Street is now home of a humongous open-air theatre--complete with video boards--aimed to reach out to new theater audiences in the metro, which telco company Globe calls 'accidental theater.' For its maiden offering, Globe has partnered with one of the Philppines' multi-awarded theater companies, 9 Works Theatrical ('Grease,' 'La Cage Aux Folles'), to stage the Philippine premiere of the rock Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT.

New and familiar faces, former reality TV contestants, and several rock band members were called back by telecom giant Globe and theater company 9 Works Theatrical, co-producers of the Manila premiere of the hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT by Green Day.

This hilariously naughty satire, based on E.L. James' novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," runs at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Makati City from Monday, February 12, to Sunday, February 28 (weekends only). It previously played 453 performances on Off-Broadway's The Elektra Theatre (300 W. 43rd Street).

Romulo Auditorium (RCBC Plaza in Makati City) from August 15 to September 6 with TV star Steven Silva as Jean-Michel, the son of gay couple, Georges (Michael De Mesa) and Albin (Audie Gemora).
