The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival (HSF) celebrates its seventeenth season with the return of all three founding members: Tony Pisculli, R. Kevin Garcia Doyle, and Harry Wong, III. The last time all three directed together was during HSF's 10th season in 2011. The season kicks off with Shakespeare's twisted, fairy-tale take on romantic comedy All's Well That Ends Well, opening July 13. Next is Shakespeare's most painful tragedy King Lear, opening July 27. The season concludes with Henrik Ibsen's dark drama Hedda Gabler, opening August 10.

Deaf West/Broadway Spring Awakening and Big River stars, Amelia Hensley, Alexandria Wailes & Melissa van der Schyff, reunited last week  for this groundbreaking original musical centering on a Deaf heroine, directed by Drama Desk nominee Kim Weild (Fetes De La Nuit, Soot and Spit) with Artistic Sign Language by Alexandria Wailes (Children Of A Lesser God, currently on Broadway).

The first show of Kumu Kahua Theatre's 47th season is peopled with recognizable characters of the typical British whodunit, but reshaped into a refreshing 1990's representation of Hawai?i.

Grandaddy shares the video for “Brush With The Wild,” a track from their recent album Last Place, which was released this Spring on 30th Century Records/Columbia Records. The video stars actor and massive fan of the band, Jonah Ray (Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Nerdist Podcast, The Meltdown), and was directed by Aaron Beckum.

Table Pounding Music is proud to present two benefit concerts for the American Civil Liberties Union, produced by Grammy-nominated clarinetist David Krakauer, pianist-composer Kathleen Tagg and Table Pounding Music on Saturday, April 15th at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 24th at 6pm. This all-star group of virtuosic, boundary-pushing New York City musicians share two common attributes: a quest for pushing outside the box in their respective genres, exploring what it means to be a musician from multiple different angles; and a desire to use their artistic voices to raise funds for the protection of civil liberties. One hundred percent of the artist fees will be donated to the ACLU. The concerts will take place at Symphony Space. Please see the lineup and further details below. Some performers push the envelope. In the case of Kim David Smith, no avant-garde, gender-bending, or mainstream artist dancing in the cabaret arena today takes more risks. Never was this more in evidence than in his brand new show, Stargazing at Joe's Pub on October 8. Few artists work harder to express themselves through the increasingly visible alt-cabaret genre than Smith. He doesn't just break glass ceilings he crashes them with a jackhammer. To accomplish this, he seamlessly re-imagines Weimar-era, neo-classicism and Berlin-channeling cabaret at every turn the likes of which have not been seen since Marlene Dietrich in the 1930 film, The Blue Angel.

This year, HSF continues its post-canon-completion tradition of scheduling experimental or non-Shakespeare plays alongside traditional works. The upcoming season includes a commedia dell'arte rep, opening tonight, July 10; Winter's Tale, opening July 24; and Othello, opening August 14.

The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival (HSF) returns to The ARTS at Marks Garage in the center of the vibrant downtown arts district for its thirteenth season. After completing the canon (all 38 of Shakespeare's plays in twelve years), HSF stretches out in new directions with classics from other playwrights, apocrypha and experimental work.

Nothing brings family and friends together like the warmth of Italian tradition and great food. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve - two of the most anticipated holidays of the year - Morello Executive Chef Kevin Garcia will offer holiday-inspired special menus, to accompany his popular a la carte menu. Morello will offer a traditional Italian 'Feast of Seven Fishes,' on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), followed by exquisite a la carte specials for New Year's Eve (Dec. 31).

The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival (HSF) returns to The ARTS at Marks Garage in the center of the vibrant downtown arts district for its twelfth season. For over a decade, the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival has been presenting three Shakespeare plays each year without repeating in its quest to produce all of Shakespeare's plays for Hawaii. At the conclusion of this season, HSF will join the ranks of the few festivals worldwide that have completed the canon. The season includes Troilus and Cressida, opening July 19; Timon of Athens, opening August 9; and As You Like It, opening August 23. Each play runs two weekends. Free companion lectures are offered for each play.
