Ben Cameron stopped by to visit the cast of the hit Off-Broadway production of Gerard Alessandrini's hilarious musical spoof of all things theatre Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation, now in its final week of a return limited engagement at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue) where performances resumed January 15, 2020 followed by an official re-opening on January 19, 2020. Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation plays its final performance Sunday afternoon, February 16, 2020 at 2:30pm.

This February, Gallery Players presents a hilarious new production of Christopher Durang's comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The play is the story of middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia, who share a home in Bucks County, PA where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike.

It's an honor to be spoofed by Gerard Allesandrini in his “Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation” and Mary Testa joined in the fun last night at the Triad Theater catching the show with some her fellow “Oklahoma!” company and then meeting face to face with Jenny Lee Stern who plays her as Aunt Eller in the “Oklahoma!” number.  Also at the show was Mitch Tebo from the cast of Oklahoma! who also joined in the fun.

Central Bucks West HS Presents Broadway Night

On Monday, November 4th at 7pm Broadway comes to Doylestown as the Central Bucks West High School Choir presents Broadway Night. The event is hosted by renowned CB West Alumna and Broadway star Jenny Lee Stern (A Christmas Story, Rocky), who is taking a night off from her current show, Forbidden Broadway, to host the event. Joining Ms. Stern this year is Central Bucks East Alumnus Justin Guarini, well known for his success on American Idol. Mr. Guarini went on to Broadway where he performed in Wicked and American Idiot and continues to be active in the entertainment industry. Stern and Guarini will be joined by Mr. Gregg Brandt (Les Mis, Tale of Two Cities) and Mr. J. Mark McVey (Les Mis). The program will be directed by CB West Choir Director, Dr. Joseph Ohrt (Amazing Grace), accompanied by Karen Burgman (Amazing Grace) on piano and Mr. Christopher Smith (Amazing Grace) will act as Master of Ceremonies.
