OCTET Announces Third & Final Extension Through June 30

The Signature Theatre world premiere production of Octet, a chamber choir musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812) and directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet), has been extended a third and final time by one week and will now play through June 30, 2019.

The Signature Theatre production of Octet, a world premiere chamber choir musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812)and directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet), opened just last night, May 19, in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Octet will now play through June 23, 2019.

Cast Of WHAT YOU ARE Announced At The Old Globe

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of What You Are, a Globe-commissioned new play by JC Lee and the second show in the 2018-2019 Season developed in the Powers New Voices Festival. Directed by Patricia McGregor, What You Are will run May 30 - June 30, 2019 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 30 - June 5. Opening night is Thursday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale now. Rehearsals Underway For IN THE GREEN By Grace McLean At LCT3

Rehearsals have begun for the Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 world premiere of IN THE GREEN, a new musical by Grace McLean, directed by Lee Sunday Evans.  McLean will also be featured in the production, along with Rachael Duddy, Ashley Perez Flanagan, Mia Pak, and Hannah Whitney. IN THE GREEN will begin performances Saturday, June 8 and run for eight weeks only through Sunday, August 4 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).  Opening night is Thursday, June 27.

Water Damage Emergency Forces Ars Nova To Adjust Performance Schedule For RAGS PARKLAND SINGS THE SONGS OF THE FUTURE

Due to a water damage emergency, Ars Nova has been forced to adjust the performance schedule for the world premiere of Rags Parkland Sings The Songs Of The Future, which began previews on September 25. The opening has been moved to Monday, October 15 and a new closing date has been set for November 3. Performances on October 2-6 have been canceled to allow for necessary repairs. On September 29, a fire sprinkler activated and caused water damage to the set, theater, and basement.

Sundance Institute Announces 2018 Theatre Lab Acting Company And Creative Advisors

Sundance Institute's Theatre Lab kicks off on May 6th, and today announced this year's participating acting company and creative advisors. The Lab, which runs through May 27 at the Fellah Hotel outside Marrakech, Morocco, is supervised by Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, and is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community, alternating locations between Sundance Resort in Utah and a venue in the Middle East/North African region, as part of a multi-year commitment to international work and a means of facilitating cultural exchange between artists writing in English and Arabic.

McCarter Theatre Center completes the 2017-2018 Theater Series with Christopher Durang's Turning Off the Morning News. His third world premiere commission for McCarter, Durang's follow-up to Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (2013 Tony Award for Best Play), is a decidedly dark and daring comedy taking hilarious aim at today's absurd and dangerous world. Directed by McCarter's Artistic Director and Resident Playwright Emily Mann, the play runs May 4 - June 3 in the Berlind Theatre. Press opening is Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m.
