Leftfield Productions, Inc. along with Bud Negley, WHY and The Hard Rock Café announce that on Thursday, April 30th 'Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway' will perform a fundraising concert in Times Square at the Hard Rock Café featuring Broadway's Rob Evan (Jekyll and Hyde), Rita Harvey (Phantom of the Opera), Steve Blanchard (Beauty and the Beast), Carter Calvert (Ain't Nothin' But the Blues), Danny Zolli (Jesus Christ Superstar), Andrea Rivette (Miss Saigon), Tad Wilson (Rock of Ages), Capathia Jenkins (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me), Eryn Murman (Spring Awakening) and Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening). The show will be introduced by Charles Grodin and Vincent Pastore with more special guests to be announced.

After an amazing run from Off-Broadway sleeper to Tony Award winning Best Musical Spring Awakening ended its run on Broadway last night, Sunday, January 18, following the 7pm performance. After the cast gave the final bows, it was time to celebrate the music, memories and magic that was Spring Awakening. Current cast members, show alumni and the creative team headed to Bond 45 on 45th St. to get the bittersweet yet joyous festivites started and 'not do sadness', BroadwayWorld tagged along to join in the emotional closing night party. When Spring Awakening closed, it had played 859 performances and 29 previews. Its eight 2007 Tony? Awards, including Best Musical, made Spring Awakening one of the biggest Tony winners in the past decade. In addition to the Tony Award wins, Spring Awakening won four Drama Desk Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the NY Drama Critics Award for Best Musical, the Drama League award for Distinguished Production of a Musical, and the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, among other notable citations.

'Those You've Known' SPRING AWAKENING Bids Broadway Farewell

Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Spring Awakening, the first musical to be presented by the Atlantic Theater Company, opened June 15th 2006 for a limited run through July 9th at the Atlantic Theater Company (336 West 20th Street). The show, in its world premiere production, began previews on May 19th, from the very first performance audiences knew something special was happening. As it readies to play its final performane tonight, we collected some of our past coverage and take a look back at some of the many Spring Awakening highlights in words, pictures and videos.
