Actor and singer Dominic Chianese, known mostly for his starring role as Corrado "Junior" Soprano in HBO's The Sopranos, and for his role as Johnny Ola in The Godfather II, makes his 54 Below tonight, October 24. Dominic has lived in New York City all his life, and worked in theatre- Broadway (The Rose Tattoo, Requiem for a Heavyweight), Off Broadway (Still Life, Much Ado About Nothing at the Delacorte) and in regional theatres all over the country. Since 1952 when he toured with the America Savoyards Gilbert and Sullivan company, Dominic has been regaling with song as well. (Not many folks know that Junior from The Sopranos made his Broadway debut in Oliver!) Dominic will be sharing "Neapolitan Songs Grandfather Taught Me" a selection of classic songs of Naples, including Dicitenciello Vuie, O Sole Mio, Marechiare, A Vucchella, and more. Ervin Drake has had many birthday tributes recently and one of the most interesting ones was held at the legendary Friars Club. Host and well known interviewer Bill Boggs, together with music critic/historian/author Will Friedwald traced the life of the 95 year old music icon.

Members of New York City's philanthropic, business, health care and Alzheimer's communities joined forces on June 2nd at the annual "Forget-Me-Not" Gala, An Evening to End Alzheimer's hosted by the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter. The Chapter raised $1.2 million at this year's event, which took place at The Pierre and was emceed by David Hyde Pierce, Tony Award winning actor and tireless advocate in the Alzheimer's community. Tim Blake Nelson, whose 2009 Off-Broadway production of EYE OF GOD was produced by THEATRE EAST, joins David Chase, creator of The Sopranos and Graham Russell of Air Supply in honoring Dominic Chianese (The Sopranos) with the LAURETTE TAYLOR AWARD on Monday, May 19, at Trinity Place, 115 B'way (between B'way and Trinity Place) in lower Manhattan. The benefit begins with a VIP Cocktail Hour at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm begins the dinner, program and music. Musical guests also include acoustic duo OF EDEN, in their first New York area performance and a sneak preview of songs from the upcoming family musical TREASURE ISLAND, performed by Josh Freilich Musical Friends, featuring Kimberly Hirst, Rebecca Kuznick, Brandon Beynon, Michael Kushner, Natasha Edwards, Sammi Kramer and Eric Stockton (SOUL DOCTOR) on guitar.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has announced the legendary Cafe Carlyle's spring 2014 season, which features a number of celebrated artists playing the Cafe for the first time, as well as the return of audience favorites Buster Poindexter and Steve Tyrell.

Dominic Chianese has long been a man of many talents. While he is best known to most for his role as Corrado 'Junior' Soprano on 'The Sopranos,' he is an accomplished singer and guitarist. He has released two albums and performed live throughout his remarkable acting career, which includes roles in numerous films and TV shows, and on Broadway and Off-Broadway stages. Chianese will make his Cafe Carlyle debut April 2 in An Evening with Dominic Chianese, which will also feature guitarist Mark Sica and and a pianist TBA. Chianese will perform songs running the gambit of American music, from country to the Great American Songbook, as well as standards in Italian and Spanish.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Jersey has paid tribute to its native son, James Gandolfini, by declaring December 1st as a special day in his honor.

DANCING ON NAILS, a new play by Paul Manuel Kane, celebrated its Opening Night last evening, July 24th at Theatre 80. Celebrity guests included Terence Winter (Creator of HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," Writer and Executive Producer for "The Sopranos"), Dominic Chianese (Junior Soprano on "The Sopranos"), and Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, The Addams Family, Xanadu). As BroadwayWorld reported earlier today, friends and family gathered this morning for the funeral of late actor James Gandolfini. The morning service was held at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Sopranos creator and Gandolfini's close friend David Chase spoke at the service, and Alan Sepinwall of Hitflix has transcribed the touching eulogy, which you can read below.
