The fifth annual BET HONORS will celebrate the outstanding achievements of extraordinary legends in music, literature, entertainment, media, service and education. After numerous adaptations - films, musicals, Muppets, cartoons - Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' tends to lose its appeal. How many little changes can on make to the script and how many different filming techniques can one use before the same plot and the same dialogue begin to bore? But there's one adaptation that brings a fresh, new side of the classic story: 'Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol.'

Longtime Hollywood publicist, Shirley Carroll O'Connor, whose colorful career included 25 years as the first female press agent under the Big Top of the Clyde Beatty, Cole Bros. and Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circuses, has died at the age of 93, in Laguna Hills, California.

New York magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss announced today that Scott Brown will be the magazine's theater critic. Brown joins New York magazine's staff and will write reviews for both the print magazine and the web, and daily posts to the Vulture online entertainment magazine. Brown has been a part-time reviewer for the magazine for the last two years and he starts in his new capacity on September 21.
