Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb is proud to announce casting for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 20th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 20th through June 29th at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; CARD AND GIFT by Kate E. Ryan, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Will Davis. MCC THEATER has announced that the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman will receive the distinct honor of being filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The filming will take place during the Friday, March 20th performance. The Nether recently extended performances through Sunday, March 29, 2015. The 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Tena Stivicic for her play 3 Winters. Today, March 2, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a celebration of the winner and finalists of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, marking the 37th Anniversary of the international prize, which is based in Houston, New York and London. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.

MCC THEATER has announced that the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman has now extended through Sunday, March 22, 2015 due to popular and critical acclaim. The production opened on Tuesday, February 24th and was previously scheduled through March 15, 2015 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). A production of The Nether also just opened to great critical acclaim in London's West End at the famed Royal Court Theatre. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize previously announced 12 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights. The winner of the 2014-2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize will be named at the Awards Presentation today, March 2 in New York City.
