The Public Theater announced the fifth season of PUBLIC STUDIO today, which will present two new plays this spring. Continuing The Public's commitment to nurturing new playwrights, the two plays will run in succession in The Public's Shiva Theater and be presented as pared-down productions with the low ticket price of $15. This vital program continues The Public's mission of making new work by emerging artists accessible to all audiences.

At the Table: A Play Reading Series has released its February play, Losing my Religion (in 140 characters or less) by Hannah C. Langley (USC - Dramatic Writing MFA Candidate). This podcast provides emerging playwrights a brand-new platform to present their work in an accessible, polished format featuring professional actors and immersive sound design and music. Previous episodes have included work by Chisa Hutchinson (Somebody's Daughter at Second Stage), Dustin Sullivan (Eugene O'Neill Award Finalist), and Diana Oh ({my lingerie play}).

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer), New York City's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968, will celebrate its 49th Anniversary at its annual Gala Benefit on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues). Honorary Chair for the event is Tony Award-nominated actor/singer and 2016 Rosie Award-winner Norm Lewis. Two-time Tony Award-nominee Brad Oscar will be Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

The Public Theater presents the New York premiere of Office Hour, written by Julia Cho and directed by Neel Keller, part of The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work at 425 Lafayette Street and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. Office Hour will run through Sunday, December 3 with an official press opening last night, November 8.

Following news that two major sponsors, Delta Air Lines and Bank of America, had pulled financial support for The Public Theater in response to their Donald Trump-Themed Shakespeare in the Park production of JULIUS CAESAR, the show opened last night at the Delacorte Theater. The Public Theater will begin previews for the MOBILE UNIT's TWELFTH NIGHT on Monday, April 24. Directed by Saheem Ali, the sit-down run of Twelfth Night follows a free three-week tour to the five boroughs bringing Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts.

The Public's 60th Anniversary Mobile Unit production of TWELFTH NIGHT is currently on tour to correctional facilities, homeless centers, social service organizations, and other community venues in the five boroughs through April 22. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
