DISRUPTION, a new play written by Andrew Stein and directed by Hersh Ellis will have two special reading presentations on Thursday, February 16 at 12:00PM and 3:00PM at Open Jar Studios.

New Georges will present a revival reading of its 2008 hit show HILLARY: A MODERN GREEK TRAGEDY WITH A (SOMEWHAT) HAPPY ENDING by Wendy Weiner and directed by Julie Kramer, as part of The Spree, a progressive festivity to benefit New Georges. The special one night only benefit reading will take place on Monday, September 28 at Five Angels Theatre at the 52nd  Street Project (789 10th Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets). The reading will be at 7:30pm, with pre-show cocktails beginning at 6pm. Tickets ($25-$100) are available online at www.newgeorges.org.  

Back for its sixth summer, the Fordham Alumni Company will for the first time host a weekend of film screenings created by Fordham Alumni. The sister program to the company's FRESH ART festival the weekend before, The CANNED Art weekend showcases work Fordham Alumni have finished creating, saved for prosperity in the can. A variety of feature length and short films, documentaries, as well as web-series and sketches will be shown. All screenings will be presented at the Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St., NYC). Admission is $5 per film. In addition, audience members can purchase a $12 “RamPass” to see 3 or more films. To purchase tickets in advance visit www.thewildproject.com. 'The Convert' opened last night, April 19 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. The show, written by Danai Gurira and directed by Emily Mann in co-production with McCarter Theatre Center and the Goodman Theatre, is a world premiere production running through May 19. Danai Gurira, Wes Craven, Rutina Wesley, L. The concert will feature members of the cast of Lynn Nottage's acclaimed play Ruined performing their favorite songs. Among the artists scheduled to appear are Condola Rashad (Sophie), David St. Louis (Commander Osembenga), Stephen Tyrone Williams (Simon and, recently, Cory Maxson in Fences at Seattle Repertory Theatre), musicians Simon Shabantu Kashama and Ron McBee, and company member Victoire Charles.

Mia Barron and Darren Pettie head up the eight-member cast as Hillary and Bill Clinton. Also featured are: Heidi Armbruster, Victoire Charles, Jorge Cordova, Charlie Hudson, III, Jenny Mercein, and Josie Whittlesey. 'Hillary' will perform its final four performances (Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m.) at The Living Theater, 21 Clinton Street (between E. Houston and Stanton Streets). Mia Barron, last seen on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning Best Play The Coast of Utopia, and stage and television's Darren Pettie will head up the eight-member cast as Hillary and Bill Clinton.
