Kentwood Players Presents SISTER ACT


Kentwood Players presents the musical SISTER ACT, Book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane. Music by Allen Menken, Lyrics by Glenn Slater. Performance dates are March 16 - April 21, 2018 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Performances take place at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester, CA 90045. There will be a complimentary pre-show champagne and dessert reception between 7:00-7:30pm for season subscribers and their guests attending the Saturday, March 17 performance.

Kentwood Players presents the beloved American holiday classic 'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play' by Joe Landry from tonight, November 8 through Saturday, December 14, 2013 for a six-week run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm with Sunday matinees at 2:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue, Westchester, CA 90045. The production is directed by Gypsy Foster and produced by Vada Foster and Alison Mattiza by special arrangement with Playscripts Inc.

Through a theatrical coincidence, Kentwood Players and Cornerstone Theater Company are both working to positively influence an otherwise overlooked community on Skid Row through their support of the Los Angeles Mission this holiday season. Both companies believe art has the power to change the lives of people who need it the most and are using the power of live theater to bring the holiday spirit to LA's Skid Row.

With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

Adapted from William Gibson's 1957 Playhouse 90 teleplay of the same name, THE MIRACLE WORKER is based on Helen Keller's autobiography "The Story of My Life" and won several Tony Awards including Best Play. The production is directed by Shawn K. Summerer and produced by Alison Mattiza and Elizabeth Summerer by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., New York City.

Kentwood Players 2009-2010 Season Marcom Masque Awards Announced


Kentwood Players, founded by the late Arky and Jan Marcom, Elizabeth Thornberg and Betty Francis, in December 1949, performs out of the Westchester Playhouse, located near LAX. The company actually got its start, and its name, as members of the Kentwood Elementary School PTA in Westchester, motivated by a school play they performed there, decided to keep a good thing going.
