MTAP's Hot Metal Musicals Incubator presents its third installment of new musical theatre work-in-development with a public reading of The Storm with book, lyrics and music by Stephanie Riso. This free reading, featuring a cast of 15 and directed by Pittsburgh CLO's producing director Mark Fleischer, will be held on Sunday, January 15, at 6:00 p.m. in the Pittsburgh CLO's Charles Gray Auditorium, 130 CLO Academy Way in downtown Pittsburgh. MTAP's Hot Metal Musicals Incubator readings are being presented with the extensive cooperation and support of the Pittsburgh CLO.

On Monday, June 27, 2016, MTAP--Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh launches Hot Metal Musicals Incubator with Dear Boy, book and lyrics by Jeanne Drennan and music by David Berlin, to be presented as a reading at 7:00pm at the Pittsburgh CLO's Charles Gray Auditorium, 130 CLO Academy Way in downtown Pittsburgh.

Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh's Hot Metal Musicals Incubator will be relaunched this summer with  two free public readings. The Incubator, aimed at helping creative teams move their work forward by thrusting it in front of an audience, will kick-off Monday, June 27, 2016 with Dear Boy, book and lyrics by Jeanne Drennan and music by David Berlin, followed by Me, Myself and Others by Eva Rainforth on Monday, August 29, 2016. Both will be presented at CLO's Charles Gray Auditorium at 7:00 pm.

Following its sold out Hot Metal Musicals, the inaugural showcase of new musical theatre work, MTAP-Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the Hot Metal Musicals Incubator.

After struggling to raise money to fund the upcoming production of OLIVER TWIST, PICT Classic Theatre was forced to lay off staff members in order to keep the show going.

PICT Classic Theatre announced today that due to a significant shortfall in funding, its production of The Tempest, which was scheduled to open on October 10th, has been canceled. PICT's current production of Educating Rita, opening on September 5th, will go on as planned. Decisions about the remainder of the season will be made by PICT's Board of Directors in the coming days.

Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce Hot Metal Musicals, the group's first ever showcase of new musical theatre work. Hot Metal Musicals will feature the work of member writers, composers and lyricists and will also include work by special guest artists with ties to Pittsburgh. MICHAEL L. MARRA ("Les Mis," Broadway & 4th National Tour, and "Jekyll & Hyde" 1st National Tour) stars as "Bill Sykes" in "Oliver!" at The Strand Theater in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA just 25 miles north of the city's central theatre district. While in rehearsal for this momentous event in the development of the growing Strand Theater, SHANE TRELOAR, who is playing "The Dodger" has been cast in the National Tour of "Elf" in the role of "Michael," to begin rehearsals October 7, the week following the closing of "Oliver!" And touring the Eastern United States through the holidays.

When Artistic & Executive Director Alan Stanford was planning the 2014 PICT season, Managing Director Stephanie Riso suggested the addition of the Beckett classic Waiting for Godot. She knew Alan had a special relationship with this particular work of Beckett, having portrayed Pozzo for the Gate Theatre Dublin's touring production for more than twenty years.

On Thursday, March 27, PICT Theatre and the Arts and Law Committee of the Allegheny County Bar hosted more than 150 guests at the Duquesne Club for the inaugural PICT UnCommon Pleas, a legal theatrical event featuring attorney Dennis Unkovic of Meyer, Unkovic and Scott LLP, and Pittsburgh Tech Council president Audrey Russo as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Federal and state judges Maurice B. Cohill Jr., Nora Barry Fischer, Jeffrey A. Manning, Judith Ference Olson, Christine A. Ward, and Dwayne R.
