For Brazilian singer Silva, an entire planet is behind his third full-length album, Jupiter (Six Degrees Records). A dreamy collection of pop songs inspired by bossa nova, R&B, electronica and hip-hop, the 27-year-old from Espírito Santo in Southeastern Brazil has dedicated this record of love songs to his favorite bright spot in the sky. The album is set for release in the US on March 11, 2016.

The Toronto Operetta Theatre's 30th Season closes with a Spring production of Davies' and Benson's delightful operetta, EARNEST, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING. The musical, based on Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, plays at the St. Lawrence Centre tonight, April 29, May 1, 2, 3 (mat), 2015, directed by Guillermo Silva-Marin, with Larry Beckwith conducting the orchestra. Realizing a long-held dream to present a totally new work in the operetta format, Toronto Operetta Theatre gave the world premiere in 2008. “I'm delighted that we are bringing this wonderful Canadian musical back to our stage”, said TOT's Silva-Marin. “It's Oscar Wilde as you never imagined before. The work is an amazing crowd-pleaser and I know that with Jean Stilwell as Lady Bracknell audiences are in for a special treat.”

New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's New Plaza to Feature Canopy of Large Trees
DeepRoot, a landscape innovator with projects all over the globe, is installing a soil structure system to grow long-living trees as part of the transformation of the newly-named David H. Koch Plaza. The four-block-long outdoor plaza that runs in front of the landmark Fifth Avenue facade, from 80th to 84th Streets in Manhattan, will now offer more than six million pedestrians and museum-goers a place to mingle, meet and rest under large mature trees.

IFC Picks Up CRYSTAL FAIRY Starring Michael Cera
IFC Films announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to writer-director Sebastian Silva's CRYSTAL FAIRY, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film, with a screenplay by Silva, stars Michael Cera, Gaby Hoffmann, Juan Andres Silva, Jose Miguel Silva, and Agustin Silva, and was produced by Juan de Dios Larrain and Pablo Larrain. CRYSTAL FAIRY was the recipient of the Best Director Award in World Cinema at the Sundance Film Festival.

The producers of Broadway's LEAP OF FAITH announced today that Kecia Lewis-Evans (The Drowsy Chaperone), Leslie Odom, Jr. ("Smash") and Krystal Joy Brown (Hair) will join previously announced Broadway cast members Raul Esparza, Jessica Phillips and Kendra Kassebaum. The full ensemble cast will be announced at a later date.
